Commemorative marker for Ray Cox, 'The Baseball Girl'
A researcher wants the city to consider a sign or marker honoring Ray Cox, a vaudeville actress who recorded 'The Baseball Girl' in 1908 and whose ashes were scattered near Roger Williams Park in 1957. The committee was scheduled to hear his request and discuss the process, but no record of the outcome exists.
Downtown parks programming
The Downtown Providence Park Network backed the mayor's budget, citing the Lumina festival, Burnside concerts and the reopening of the Biltmore Park kiosk, all free to the public.

PCTA facility unavailable for summer recreation
The PCTA gym won't be available for summer programming affecting roughly 400 kids for a second year, forcing relocation to Hope High School — which councilors called hot, musty, and undersized.
